Problem & Solution

The client is CEC company, an educational company that provides ESL lessons for children and adults. They have currently extended the scope of the company and opened another 12 new branches across the country. The companies need to provide a training program for newly promoted managers but due to the Covid situation, the training had to be delivered online. They want a full package training program that can be delivered virtually and that can be measured in terms of efficiency.

This course is part of the training program called “The new management’s toolkit” and it focuses solely on building the necessary management and communication skills for the new managers at CEC. I developed the course content into smaller modules (applying Hick’s law) with scenarios, graphics, and regular knowledge check that allows the learners to remember the information easier.

Process

I worked with some staff from the HR department as well as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to define the goal and the specific objectives of the course are that the new managers can communicate effectively with their members and create a working environment with healthy habits of interaction.

Afterward, I created a storyboard on Google Docs and this is a mostly text-based storyboard.
Finally, I fully developed the project in Articulate Storyline 360.

Reflection

Finishing this project provided me with several key takeaways:

Articulate Storyline 360: This project emphasized the importance of implementing timeline manipulation, conditions, variables, states, as well as some other tricks.

User Experience (UX): This project’s page layout and transition animations were designed to be accessible across devices with different screen sizes and input types. I believe in designing a clear, familiar user experience.

Learning Design Principles: In this course, I have applied Bloom’s Taxonomy by delivering the lesson from simple to complex as I always start with basic concepts. I also used Jakob’s law in my designing process to make sure my course has a consistent, familiar design pattern for the users.

Don't take my word for it! You can see it for yourself!
