The Dos and Donts of Talent Development

This is a module that belongs to the training package for the L&D Department of TheJournal Company that aim to provide the employees with practical tips to improve the quality of their talent management program.

Problem & Solution

TheJournal Company faced some problems in their talent development program and they want to improve the efficiency of this by building a course for the L&D Department. They want a hybrid program and I was in charge of creating the course and managing it in the LMS. 

This module is placed in the beginning part of the training program as I believe it is critical for the employees to identify the right talent development strategy from the start. 

 

Process

I worked closely with the SME from the L&D department of the Company and I decided to divide the lesson units into several modules. This module was placed in the beginning as it is very critical that employees know what mistakes they should avoid in their process of managing talents. 

Afterward, I created a storyboard on Google Docs and this is a mostly text-based storyboard. I used the collections of characters in Articulate to make a synergized visual for this project.

Finally, I fully developed the project in Articulate Storyline 360. 

Reflection

Finishing this project provided me with several key takeaways:

User Experience (UX): This project’s page layout and transition animations were designed to be accessible across devices with different screen sizes and input types. I believe in designing a clear, familiar user experience.

Learning Design Principles: In this course, I have applied the Andragogy theory to design this module, the learners (who are working adults) know the objectives and outcomes of this module from the beginning slide, and they can apply the lesson right away in their work. This module works like a microlearning course as I chunk the information very effectively.

Experience The Course
